A Typical Day's Shooting with "The
Hundred Valleys Partridge Club UK "
Read
what the Shooting Times & Sporting Gun says about
our gun club!
Gun positions are all in valleys of varying
depths.
You could be shooting below olive groves, vineyards or a sheer cliff face.
The first drive of the day is usually less demanding than later on, this
will help you adjust to the light and get your swing moving in readiness
for the deeper valleys where your expectations will be fully realised.
A significant number of our partridges are wild birds bred on the Estate
and are traditionally driven to speed over the line as single birds & in
coveys.

The Shoot :
The following equipment is Estate supplied and will be at the peg for your convenience.1. Peg numbered, double leathered gun slips
2. Double leather loaders, bags charged with the estate cartridges of your choice.
3. 1 tall and 1 short leather seated shooting stool.
4. I clicker, 1 butt marker to record your score.
5. Lightweight waterproof poncho.
6. Lightweight waterproof over boots.
7. Wrap-round safety sunglasses.
8. Peaked cap.
9. Gun cleaning kit.
10. Insect repellant & suncream.

Following collection from your hotel , you will arrive at the club lodge for a cup of coffee before moving to the first drive where your personal cargador & secretario will have set up your guns, gun position & have everything on hand for your shooting day.
After two drives - it's back to the Maharaja's Tent or lodge terrace for a little refreshment and the inevitable discussion - 'the great shots and occasional miss !
Then, we're off for more demanding sport before lunch is enjoyed in the lodge dining room or on the terrace. Our Cordon Bleu chef is equally at home serving fresh lobster & seafood dishes, the finest cuts of meat, with traditional Spanish delicacies and local dishes.
Although lunch in Spain is a relaxed affair we still have more drives to complete. Perhaps Capote or Cuerno drive where the birds are at their highest, and come over resembling starlings. Your skill with the gun will be challenged to it's limit ...A right and left here ! will be something to boast of !

Afternoon temperatures especially in the early & late season can be up in the 80s' , when shortsleeves are the order of the day. The shooting day finishes when your agreed limit has been reached.
The team captain will be notified of the number of birds after each drive and of course each gun will have agreed his individual numbers with his secretario, so no nasty surprises ! It's then time for cool refreshments while your guns are professionally cleaned by the keepers. Email The Hundred Valleys Partridge Club
